Chins should get dust baths at least three times per week. In areas of high humidity dust baths should be given more often. Dust baths should last a maximum of about five to ten minutes. Longer tends to dry out a chinchilla's skin. The dust in a chinchilla's dust bath should be cleaned regularly (in other words, remove the "poops"), and replaced about every two to three weeks.
