Rose hips are a wonderful natural treat for chins! After
wild roses drop their petals, the seed-pod that is left is
called a "rose hip." Rose hips are extrememly high in
vitamin C (even more so than oranges for example) and
they are also a good source of vitamin E, K and the B
vitamins, riboflavin and folate.
 | Most chinchillas love dried rose hips and they are a much healthier
treat than raisins.
|
WARNING: Too many treats
can be harmful to your pet chinchilla. It's easy for
first-time pet chin owners to over feed treats.
Remember the general rule-of-thumb, no more than one
treat per day. |

My nine month old chinchilla ("Boddington Apple Squeeksworth the Second", a.k.a. "Chilly Billy") took to rose hips right away. He holds them in his little paws and has a lot of fun turning them around and around while munching them down. They seem to be quite good for his teeth too (not to mention a much healthier treat than raisins.. :-)

My boys love these treats so much! I love watching them eat and the sound effects they make are so cute(Chomp, Chomp). I will continue giving the men these treats, they're amazing good!
Thanks Chinworld, Michell, Mr.Pudge and LP(Little Pudge)
