Martin's Cages are among our favorite chinchilla cages.
They aren't fancy, but they are very functional. If you
are looking for a good value in a chinchilla cage, you
can't go wrong with a Martin's Cages chinchilla cage.
Martin's Cages are thoughtfully made with 1/2" by 1"
galvanized-after weld wire. Ramps, balconies, and middle
floors are constructed out of 1/2"x1/2" galvanized wire
mesh for secure footing.
The ChinWorld version of the R-695 (and R-695S/O) has an
extra "wheel door" in the top of the cage that allows
adding and removing even the largest chinchilla exercise
wheels.
The cages are sent partially assembled to save on shipping
costs. You do the final assembly of attaching the front,
sides, back, and top using small "cage rings" that are
crimped with special pliers. All parts are included along
with brief written instructions. We have found Martin's
Cages to be quite easy (and even fun!) to assemble.
Small disposable pliers are provided with each cage, but
we think you'll be much happier borrowing our heavier-duty
cage ring pliers. (You purchase our
heavy-duty pliers for $17.99 which we then refund back
to you when you return the pliers.)
Martin's Cages are shipped via FedEx directly from the
factory in Columbia, PA. If you order a Martin's Cage,
we will email you with the exact cost, including
shipping charges and plier's deposit (if you want to
borrow ours).
Also, if you want a cage other than
those listed below, just let us know... we can probably
get it for you.

   Ozzy loves it

I ordered the R-695S/O model, and when it arrived, it seemed daunting to build. It was a process and can be quite time consuming, but it's worth the effort.
My chin loves it and loves to run up and down the ramps. The cage is sturdier than I anticipated and the only concern I had was her running on a metal, mesh platform. All in all she is fine and loves her new home and I do recommend this cage if you want something that is long lasting. I'm sure she'll be enjoying this cage for years to come.

  Good Overall Cage
|

We purchased the "Chinchilla Townhouse" for our two chins and they seem to like it. The cage is durable and most is easy to clean. The bottom door makes installing a wheel extremely easy. The biggest drawback is the building of the cage. It comes partially assembled but it doesn't really help. Doing it on my own, with the pliers ChinWorld sells it took me over 8 hours to build. I would highly recommend having another person help you and it should go quicker. The cage is not tremendously sturdy as metal cages are, but it works. Cleaning is easy except the far back corners. Overall a decent cage, not having to clean the cage as much as we had to with their old cage makes it worth it.
Pros: Ease of Wheel Install Many Levels Easier Cleaning
Cons: Difficult & Time Consuming to Build Cost Not Sturdy (Wobbles, sways when chins run around)

    Super Chinchilla homes
|
10/31/2008 - by Peter Hofman from Floral Park, NY US

I purchased an FC-430 HR with optional 'wheel door' to replace a store brand that nearly cost one of my chins his life. Martin's has designed these for the chinchilla, not some 'generic' version for ferrets, rabbits etc. I commend ChinWorld for their selection of Martins. Please borrow or buy the optional pliers especially for the larger models or multiple builds. Thanks, ChinWorld, for making my chin a very happy {and safer} little boy!

    Love It

My husband and I have a set of breeding chins. We have struggled to find cages that our little ones cannot get out of. I just got this one for our newest litter. I love it. I will be replacing my other 2 cages with these.

    Awesome cage
|

I was skeptical with the all the wire flooring, but just laid down some grass mats for the chins to stand on. This cage is super easy to clean. I have the slide out pan, so all the droppings just go to the bottom and you can clean it without having to remove items or the chins. The doors are very secure and easy to open. I also have the flip top lid, so it is easy to put in and take out items. The assembly was a pain. I would invest in or borrow the better c-ring pliers that ChinWorld offers. The ones supplied with the cage are horrible. Overall...extremely happy with this purchase.

    Nicely Built!

If you go to the website you can find they cages that hook up to the aquariums. I prefer those for my expecting chinchillas so the kits aren't born on bars. But overall... great price and great quality!

THE BEST CHIN CAGE YOU CAN BUY!
|
08/07/2007 - by Donelle Pearson from Renton, WA US

I've had the "Chinchilla Townhouse" cage for several years now. I have two chinchillas, Cocha & Bamba, and they absolutely love the cage. I'm going to buy another one I like them so much. They are simply the best you can find for the price you pay. Chinchillas need as much room as possible, and Martin's Cages understands that!

    Perfect Chin Cage!

We love the cage!! Pepe loves all the new levels and is playing like never before! Perfect design, R-695S/O, make sure you have some big pliers though!! The ONLY negative is my fingers don't fit in the holes to rub behind his ears real quick! So exciting!

My female has a cage from Martin's Cages, and if you want a nice giant cage for rock bottom price, this is definitely the route to take. She loves it.
