September Special Blue Cloud Chinchilla Dust is the "gold standard" of chin bath dusts. It is not too hard and not too soft. It cleans without damaging the fur or skin. Chins should get dust baths at least three times per week. In areas of high humidity dust baths should be given more often. Dust baths should last a maximum of about five to ten minutes. Longer tends to dry out a chinchilla's skin. The dust in a chinchilla's dust bath should be cleaned regularly (in other words, remove the "poops"), and replaced about every two to three weeks.

This is by far the best dust ever! It's super fine so make sure you have a bath house for your chins or you'll end up breathing it in. It makes my chin's coat super soft and shiny!

Blue Cloud from ChinWorld is an excellent product. Our chin loves it, and his coat is in great shape. We keep an air filter -- NOT the ozone pollution (at groundlevel, as opposed to the upper atmosphere, where we want it!)-generating kind, but the big fan-type (with charcoal & HEPA filters) -- near the corner of the room where his cage is located. This helps all of us breathe a lot more freely while our chin enjoys his baths.
