When Orchard Sweets™ makes their Apple Treats they end up with a lot of left over apple peels. They use these apple peels to make Apple Pellet Horse Treats. The pellets are about 1/2" in diameter and even though they are made for horses, chinchillas really enjoy them. Ingrid likes to call them "Apple Logs" so that's what we're calling them. Whatever you call them, these are another great treat for chins. WARNING: Too many treats can be harmful to your pet chinchilla. It's easy for first-time pet chin owners to over feed treats. Remember the general rule-of-thumb, no more than one treat per day.

These are our 3 chins favorite treats!! They get very excited and try to go hide from each other while chewing! Highly recommended!!!

All I have to do is rattle the bag and they know it's treat time! My oldest chin prefers the Apple Logs over the Alfalfa Cookies. The youngest doesn't care as long as he get's a treat - but I'm sure this is number one!

These are great treats for chins, not only do they love them but it keeps them busy much longer than any other treat!

My Angus and Cujo love Apple Logs and go crazy for them just like raisins. Although, it's hard to split an Apple Log, I feel a little less guilty giving them one rather than a raisin because their enjoyment time is much longer.
