Alfalfa King's 1 lb. Double Compressed Oat, Wheat & Barley Bale is an excellent "variety" hay. We've found that chins can get bored with the same 'ol hay day after day. This hay is an excellent way to give them the variety they crave without upsetting their digestive system.

This is a three hay blend with lots of seed heads and bulk fiber. We suggest that when using this hay, a chin still be given 50% of his/her usual hay and 50% of this special "treat" hay.

This is loose hay, but it comes in a very compact manner. The process of double-compressing actually protects the hay and helps to hold the leaf, ensuring greater quality while minimizing damage. The hay is almost in layers which makes it easy to separate for feeding.

A complete chin diet should include both timothy and alfalfa hays as a chin's primary hays. Additional hays such as Alfalfa King's Oat, Wheat & Barley are not only good sources of needed fiber, but they also serve to stimulate a good appetite.

Guaranteed Analysis:

Crude protein not less than 7.0%
Crude fat not less than 1.5%
Crude fiber not more than 32.0%
    Moisture not more than 14.0%

My chins somehow are not really into it
06/20/2007 - by Rebecca from unspecified
It smells good to me. It's really fresh. But somehow they're not really fond of this hay. The surface of the hay is very glossy, and it may be a totally different texture than the timothy hay (I haven't tried so I don't know). Maybe that's why they don't really like it.

Chinnies love this stuff!

My chins absolutely love this hay. They both get excited when they see me reloading their hay box, even if they are trying to sleep! It is nice to be able to offer them some variety.
