September Special
We have quality compressed alfalfa hay cubes from Imperial
County in Southern California.
Hay is a basic part of a chinchilla's diet and should
be made available at all times. Compressed hay cubes
are much neater and easier to use than loose hay. We
still do occasionally give our chins some loose hay
as a treat.
The amount of hay a chinchilla will go through varies
from chin to chin. Generally, you should expect use
about twice as much hay as you do pellets.
Hay should be stored in a cool, dry place. Moisture should
be avoided as it will cause hay to turn moldy. Never
use moldy hay!
